Five Hours, Seven Updos

Saturday morning I lifted my weary body out of bed. Before 7:00 on a Saturday just doesn't seem fair. Well not fair if I can't just sit around for a few hours while I finish waking up.

It was "WEDDING HAIR EXTRAVAGANZA 2008" It makes me cringe to even think about it. The first updo took me an hour. She had enough hair for 5 people and she washed it that morning. It was a slippery slide that every hair pin I put in it slid right out of. What's better than that? We ended up taking hers down and doing it over because on the next one? I showed the bride what I really wanted to do with their hair as most of the girls had hair to the middle of their backs or longer.

By the end I had hair spray flaking off of every finger. I sprayed and sprayed until I was sure what was left of the Ozone was entirely gone.

In the end? I was exhausted, had a head ache and went and crammed a cheeseburger in my face.

Here is the Mother of the bride, the bride and her two sisters. All with enough hair for a small village. Oh and the bride insisted that I put curls around her face which screamed Prom 1993 to me... But whatever.

They were such a fun group though and we did silly stuff like this as we went. This sweet girl hasn't cut her hair in THREE years!

And then that night? I attended my sister's 24th birthday party. I can't say for sure, but we may or may not have ended up doing stupid shit like this.

Behold, me, my sister and her fiance, the KURTACLE:

LOL you should have cut that piece off!!! That would have been rediculously funny.

I like the picture of you pretending to cut her hair. Your hair looks so gorgeous, I would go blond if my hair could look like that, and I don't even like blond normally!

You and the hair - pretty awesome! You have some serious talent! I'm in awe, I can do a pony and that is about it for me ;) Sorry it was so long, but you did great!

Holy hair follicles! My best friend (who's a hair stylist) bemoans wedding parties. She reckons that every bride and bridesmaid wants their hair "wavy and up, but not really up". It's the holy grail of up-dos. The slightest bit of humidity and the whole lot comes a-tumbling down. Looks like you survived unscathed. And you lived to party another day!
